Recently, 2NE1’s Dara (also known as Sandara Park), published an SNS update with the caption “YG Family” and included several photos taken after and during 2NE1’s recent reunion concert.
However, despite the photos including artists both currently under YG and those who have left the agency, photos taken with BLACKPINK’s Jennie, who attended the concert and show enthusiastic support for 2NE1, were not included.
This raised speculations that Dara has excluded Jennie from her idea of “YG Family”, leading to heavy criticisms from fans of BLACKPINK.
In particular, in the quote retweets on Dara’s original post, various comments expressing frustrations at Dara, such as, “YG has to have the worst seniors in the industry. Because how is it that SNSD (Girls’ Generation) from a rival company have acted more like seniors to BP (BLACKPINK)” and “The entire company is jealous of how successful BLACKPINK is as a group and as solo artists”, can be seen.
Some fans have defended Dara, stating that the exclusion of Jennie was likely to be unintentionally, while some believed that photos with Jennie include staff members of her new agency, Odd Atelier, and so should be excluded from a post about “YG Family”.
However, others insisted that there are photos of Jennie with 2NE1 that don’t including Odd Atelier staff members and continued to criticize Dara.
